Speaker: Alessandro Linzi (University of Szczecin) Title: Structures for quantifier elimination in valued fields Abstract: There are many structures which are naturally associated to a valued field. For instance, we have the value group and the residue field. Some model theorists will probably know about the RV-structures or leading term structures. Some algebraic geometers have certainly heard about the graded ring associated to a valued field. Perhaps less known is the fact that to any valued field it is possible to associate (valued) hyperfields. The latter observation was made by Marc Krasner in 1957. In this talk, we will consider all of the above mentioned structures with a view on the problem of quantifier elimination in henselian valued fields of characteristic 0.
