Title:
Classification of normal domains using valuations

Abstract:
The talk provides an introduction to those part of
multiplicative ideal theory, that deals with the
representation of a normal domain R as an intersection
of a family of valuation rings of the fraction field
K of R. The family is on one hand supposed to be derived
from R in a natural way and on the other hand to be
much smaller than the family of all valuation rings of
K containing R.
